the wind was ridiculous today, so i opted for layers, knowing that the wind would find a way to make me cold. not sure what’s up with denver weather lately, but it’s been 60 one day and 40 and wacky windy the next. most certainly not the worst of weather, but not ideal either.
cozy sweater, a hint of floral on the denim (channeling spring), and chambray to balance it out. warm and fun.

the temperatures might be dropping in denver, but i haven’t worn a skirt in so long, i was bound to make this the second time in one week. i also have not worn this skirt in over a year. as in, back in my wedding planning days. so, it was about time it made an appearance. this time it was re-incarnated in a hipster-y outfit.
paired with mauve, lace cut-out tights, my steve madden boots, striped t-shirt and oversized cardigan. it’s casual, but not, at the same time. i could have easily worn flats (and you totally can), i just really wanted to wear boots.

thank you, forever 21, for these booties. the perfect little heel for height. the peek-a-boo sides, which means they can go from spring to summer to fall to winter (just add tights). and with a rolled up denim, it makes this outfit a little rocker city chic.
oh, and, there’s that chambray again. sorry i’m not sorry.

i’m calling this one festively casual. i had every intention of wearing red denim and the same plaid blouse, but pair them both with my faux fur vest, but sleeping in sounded so much better. that, and i couldn’t find my red denim.
not only does this outfit tackle color blocking, but it tackles pattern blocking, too. one of my biggest tips, always: don’t be afraid to mix colors and patterns. if you’re not sure if something goes together, pair it together anyway, and wear it with pride.

plan on me wearing this fur vest every week. it’s just terribly versatile and fun and warm.
and also, this chambray tunic. also makes an appearance every week. also because of it’s versatility. it’s super easy to dress up or down. in this case, i went for a “dress up” with the aforementioned faux fur vest, one wolf wet leggings, and studded wedge booties.
want to dress it down? pair it with ballet flats, remove the faux fur vest and layer a cardigan or sweater atop the tunic.

some of my favorite pieces in one outfit: tribal, chambray, and pink.
one of the easiest ways to tackle a tribal print pant? pair it with a neutral top and add a colorful shoe. simple, classic, chic, and fun. and, don’t let the tribal print scare you – they can be flattering.

lately my entire wardrobe has consisted of this tomboy-ish, girly outfit. or, as i was told recently: college sweater, collared shirt, pearls. sounds about right. but, when it’s cold in colorado, you wear layers.
and a huge thank you to old navy for this super soft sweatshirt and large plaid blanket scarf. i will say that i did brave black friday to grab these (mostly because i was on the hunt for the illusive cocoon coat — which i did score).
moral of this outfit? layers.

i have been on the hunt for the perfect faux fur vest for quite some time now. but, every single one i found didn’t have a high collar, which was a must-have. leave it to an impromptu trip to the mall over the weekend and a hunt for some new accessories that would land me the vest i’ve been looking for. all thanks to forever 21.
this vest is super easy to dress up and down. i dressed it down with a faux leather legging from h&m, a striped hi-low top, and pointed ballet flats. but, pair it with skinnies, boots, and a sweater for the perfect mountain look. or heels and a silk blouse for something a bit more sexy.

i don’t wear these jeans enough. the velvet brocade detail is not only perfect for the holidays, but it adds the perfect level of dimension to any outfit. i opted to keep it a bit casual with chambray and a goldenrod-colored sweater. but, pair it with a flowy, black blouse and heels, and you have the perfect after-work outfit.

because chambray. obviously. and, layers. and, puffy vests.
did i mention it’s supposed to snow tonight? all the more reason to wear leggings, layers and lace-up boots.
